Phil Mahoney was born and raised in South Wales.
after completing an HND in Photography in Swansea,
Phil took London by storm as a freelance photographer
working with the likes of Bob Geldof and Tina Turner.
It wasn't all that glamourous - and there was a lot of
hard work in advertising and on location throughout the UK.
Phil's wandering finally returned him to Wales where he
took up a position as a staff photographer for the
Western Mail & Echo and Wales on Sunday.
Like Radio Four's John Humphries - and many other
greats of news and publishing - Phil too worked
for the Merthyr Express.
For over twenty years, Phil Mahoney has worked hard
honing his craft and building a professional portfolio to be proud of.
